- Henin has lined-up the Hopman Cup tournament in Perth as her comeback event
Justine Henin has confirmed on her official website that she will miss the rest of the 2010 season because of an elbow injury.
The former world number one ruptured the ligaments in her right elbow at Wimbledon in June and has revealed that she is taking a complete break from tennis before resuming light training in October in preparation for a return to the WTA Tour for the 2011 season.
"I am doing everything that my medical team require from me in order to get fit from this injury. I have had several medical tests in the last few days and the news is encouraging," the 28-year-old said on www.justine-henin.be.
"It is still a slow recovery so I need to be patient again until the end of 2010 and I cannot take any risks.

"I hope to start practising again in October and I will work hard to get ready for the new tennis season," added the Belgian, who has targetted the Hopman Cup in Perth as her comeback tournament.
Henin -- who is currently ranked 14th in the world -- reached the final of the Australian Open in January, where she lost to Serena Williams, on her return to the Tour after an 18-month retirement.
However, she suffered the injury when beaten by Kim Clijsters in the last 16 at the All England Club.
Meanwhile, U.S.Open champion Kim Clijsters and new world No.2 Caroline Wozniacki are through to the third round of the Montreal Cup.
Belgian fifth seed Clijsters beat qualifier Bethanie Mattek-Sands 4-6 6-4 6-3 while Dane -- the highest-ranked player still in the tournament -- defeated Swiss Patty Schnyder 7-5 7-5.
