UK swine flu deaths jump to 29

Twenty-nine grouping hit today died in the UK after contracting swine flu, the government has announced.

There hit been 26 deaths in England and threesome in Scotland, said a Department of Health spokeswoman.

On weekday the sort of reported deaths stood at 17. Officials estimated there were 55,000 new cases terminal week.

A Wiltshire patient who tested constructive for swine contagion has died in Swindon. The third victim in Scotland, a someone tourist, died on Wednesday.

The woman - who suffered inexplicit health problems - died after being admitted to hospital in Inverness threesome weeks ago, said Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon.

The BBC's medical correspondent, Fergus Walsh, says the jump in the sort of deaths is to be expected, given the huge leap in the sort of cases.

Given the trend sort of cases, it is destined there will be more deaths, he says.

But for most contagion patients the symptoms remain mild.
